Grumman F-14A Tomcat - Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force

Iran has the distinction of being the only export customer of the F-14 Tomcat. Acquired during the 1970's, Iran ordered eighty airframes, a considerable fighter force with its long range capability. The type saw action during the Iran-Iraq War of the 1980's and has continued service since. Indigenous upgrades keep a number of airframes flyable, outliving their USN counterparts.
